1:19 Victor Balta: Hi, everyone! Welcome to our live chat with "American Idol" finalist Allison Iraheta. We'll get started at 1:30 p.m. ET/10:30 a.m. PT, but go ahead and start submitting your questions for Allison and we'll queue them up. We appreciate your patience and we'll try to get through as many questions as possible in our 30 minutes with Allison.
1:26 Moderator: Hi Everyone. We're looking forward to reading your questions and we're doing our best to get them answered. Please do NOT submit the same question more than once. It does not increase the likelihood of it getting asked and it creates a backlog. We will consider it spamming and we all know what happens to spam.
1:31 Victor Balta: Allison is here, folks! Welcome Allison...
1:31 Allison Iraheta: What's going on, you guys?
1:32 [Comment From Josh C.]
Hey Allison, I was just wondering what you favorite American Idol moment was?
1:32 Allison Iraheta: I think probably making it into the Top 36.
1:32 [Comment From Justine]
Who inspired you to audition for american idol?
1:32 Allison Iraheta: I've been wanting to audition since I was 9, so I guess the first was the inspiration.
1:32 [Comment From Josh C.]
What was you favorite performance from other contestants that you saw?
1:33 Allison Iraheta: That's a hard one. That's going to be long if I list all of them. They all had an awesome performance, at least.
1:33 [Comment From Andrea]
Hi Allison! Will you and Adam being dueting on eachothers albums for sure?
1:33 [Comment From Elphie]
Can you and Adam collaborate on a new/original duet on one of your albums? I love the two of you together! My favorite performance this season was definitely Slow Ride!
1:33 Allison Iraheta: Sure! Definitely, we've even talked about doing something like that in the future. He's down and I'm down, so we'll probably be working on something, hopefully.
1:34 [Comment From Alisha]
hey allison! whos your favorite band/singer that you look up to the most? im a big fan and cant wait till your album comes out, good luck with everything
1:34 Allison Iraheta: My favorite band is Franz Ferdinand, and singer/soloist is Pink... and thanks!
1:34 [Comment From missy]
Wich top ten contestant did you grow most closest to in your AI expirience?
1:34 Allison Iraheta: I got close with all of them, but mostly Adam and Kris.
1:34 [Comment From Becky]
Do you have any other things you want to do in addition to singing (acting, art, writing, etc.)?
1:35 Allison Iraheta: I definitely have been thinking about acting and writing. I'm pretty alright at writing, but I don't know if I'm good or not at acting. But I wouldn't mind trying it out to see what happens.
1:35 [Comment From puppyluv]
When did you dye your hair red? and what made you dye it that color
1:35 [Comment From Alyssa]
Hey Allison Why Did You Decide To Dye Your Hair Red? Also What Was Your Original Hair Color? Thanks
1:35 [Comment From Miranda]
When did you dye your hair red and why?
1:35 Allison Iraheta: I don't know. I get bored easily with hair color and anything else, so I like changing it up, and red is my favorite color, so I wanted to dye it red. Now it's like purple-green because I got bored. My original color was really close to black, brown -- dark brown.
1:36 [Comment From John]
You really grew up right in front of us on AI! Your confidence and maturity seemed to grow week by week, along with the strength of your performances. How much of a factor was the coaching that you received behing the scenes? What was your greatest source of encouragement along the way?
1:36 Allison Iraheta: They helped me so much with singing, taking in the comments from the judges and really showing emotion in the songs. Encouragement-wise, really just being yourself and never letting anything get in your head and staying true to who you are.
1:37 [Comment From Miranda]
Which mentor were you most excited about?
1:37 Allison Iraheta: Excited about all of them, but mostly Slash.
1:37 [Comment From kailee]
What was one song you wish you had gotten a chance to perform on the show?
1:37 Allison Iraheta: I actually got a chance to perform all the songs I wanted to do! So that's good.
1:37 [Comment From Jim in NYC]
Alison huge congrats on signing with J - is that Clive Davis's label??
1:38 [Comment From Tiera123]
Is Allison going to make a straight rock album? When will it come out? She is a great singer. Amazing voice for her edge!
1:39 Allison Iraheta: Thanks! It's going to be rock, just a little different... doing my own twist on it.
1:39 [Comment From Dawn from Indiana]
What was the hardest genre for you?
1:39 Allison Iraheta: I think it was the Rat Pack week.
1:40 [Comment From Miranda]
Which comments from the judge's helped you the most?
1:40 Allison Iraheta: I don't know. All of their comments definitely helped in their different way because each of them gave good advice. Simon saying that I was boring and that I didn't talk a lot and wasn't vocal helped me in the last couple of weeks and speak up for myself, so that helped. But then I got eliminated! Wait a minute! Hold on!
1:41 [Comment From Jessica]
Being that you are so young already with a record deal, do you plan on finishing high school and go to college?
1:41 Allison Iraheta: I'm definitely going to be finishing high school right now. I really want to go to college, but right now with all this going on, it's kinda hard already doing my high school work. But I'm definitely going to keep going.
1:41 [Comment From Dan]
Hey Allison, you were my favorite from this season and my favorite girl from all 8 seasons. I was just wondering, you've been watching the show since you were 9, what is your favorite Idol performance of all time?
1:42 Allison Iraheta: That would have to be David Cook's "Billie Jean" cover for me. That was the best ever.
1:42 [Comment From Miranda]
Do you have your driver's license yet?
1:42 Allison Iraheta: No, I don't have my driver's license yet. I wish I did!
1:42 [Comment From Meg]
I know the boys will want to ask this question: Do you havea boyfriend?
1:42 Allison Iraheta: No, I do not.
1:42 Allison Iraheta: at this time...
1:42 [Comment From Justine]
Who are your musical influences besides Pink?
1:43 Allison Iraheta: Janis Joplin, Kings of Leon... there's a bunch! Mostly those two.
1:43 [Comment From Becky]
Allison - what do you think is your greatest strength (I could name a million) and greatest weakness?
1:44 Allison Iraheta: Weakness: Talking. I'm not a good speaker, and I stop talking in front of people because I get scared. I guess my strong point would be... I don't even know. I can't even think. I know how to break the ice easily by saying random things so I don't feel weird.
1:44 [Comment From actingiscool]
Do you have a stylist to help you choose your outfits? Or do you choose them yourself?
1:44 Allison Iraheta: On Idol, we had a stylist that helped us choose what to wear. But I wish I had a stylist with me 24/7, because I'm really laid back with what I wear.
1:44 [Comment From Brian]
Simon was a jerk to you. How did you deal with that?
1:45 Allison Iraheta: Hahaha... I mean, all those weeks that he kept saying those comments about me being boring and not likeable. I thought it was funny that I didn't say anything. He was kind of proving his point because I didn't say anything. But he was proud of me that I actually stood up for myself the last time. So it helped.
1:45 [Comment From Guest]
Allison can you please get a twitter so your fans can keep up with what your doing during the tour.
1:45 [Comment From natthecat11]
when will you have twitter?
1:45 [Comment From jz]
Anoop's got one, Matt's got one, Danny's got one. Is Twitter in your future?
1:46 Allison Iraheta: Wow... I'm scared of getting a Twitter, man. I don't know. I will get one as soon as we hit the first place we go. When we get to Portland, I will get one. It will be the actual one --- not the fake one.
1:46 [Comment From Dara]
did you ever get stage fright? if you did, what helped you the most?
1:47 Allison Iraheta: I get stage fright right before we go on stage, and I have a nervous habit of biting my nails. So I bite until I go on and I just go without thinking, and someone else comes out. I totally forget when I go on stage, then when I come off, I'm like, "What just happened?"
1:47 [Comment From Rob]
Allison-You were the highlight for the women this season, do you have any regrets on any performances you wish you could have done over or differently?
1:47 Allison Iraheta: No regrets! I'm pretty happy with what I did on the show, and I wouldn't regret a thing.
1:47 [Comment From amber]
i'm really looking forward to your next album! where do you see yourself in ten years?
1:47 Allison Iraheta: Hopefully in 10 years, still popping out some albums, singing, because it's really what I want to do ... just continue on doing what I love doing -- singing.
1:48 [Comment From Urs]
How many songs are you performing on tour?
1:48 Allison Iraheta: I am performing three by myself, and a fourth: one with Adam.
1:48 Victor Balta: I think people will be glad to hear that!
1:48 [Comment From Justine]
How do you feel about Kara being the new judge on american idol?
1:49 Allison Iraheta: I love the fact that she's the new judge and she just adds something different to the table. She's great and she, like the other guys, she knows what she's saying and she helps in her own way.
1:49 [Comment From Octavia]
I remember when you and Danny got in a food fight. Who cleaned the food up?
1:49 Allison Iraheta: We felt pretty bad about that food fight and the mess we left after, but they cleaned it up because they said they wanted to. We actually said we would, but they said, "We wanted you to do this, so we'll clean it up." Obviously they didn't want us to go that far, but we took it to another level.
1:51 Victor Balta: One second, folks... Allison's having a little technical troubles.
1:51 Victor Balta: Thanks for your patience.
1:51 Allison Iraheta: We're back!
1:52 [Comment From Andrew]
Can you give us a hint to what you will perform on the tour?
1:52 Victor Balta: Whew!
1:53 Allison Iraheta: I thought people knew what I was going to do on tour! Something by Pink! And something by the first band I did in the Top 36... and something that made me cry like a baby... oh, geez... that's so obvious!
1:54 [Comment From bleep]
Have you heard of the fanbase "Alliholics"?
1:54 [Comment From Claudia]
Have you googled yourself yet? Or are you staying away from all the comments and communities online?
1:54 Allison Iraheta: I heard about Aliholics while I was on the show, because I received an awesome book that one of the fans gave me with a bunch of the fans writing in what they wanted to say to me. And it had a picture of my "Hot Stuff" performance with "Aliholics" and a picture of a beer bottle.
1:55 Allison Iraheta: I have Googled myself, I'm not going to lie. I did try staying away from that on the show, but now that it's over I google myself even more.
1:55 [Comment From Bea]
The first round of auditions for the ninth season are going on right now- what advice can you give for people trying out for Idol?
1:55 Allison Iraheta: Just go for it. I went through the same thing and if you're really passionate about something, you're going to go for it. You'll be afraid, because I was afraid, too. But just go for it.
1:56 [Comment From Josh]
Your fave quote was "I'll never let you go, if you promise not to fade away." What's the significance of it in your life?
1:56 Allison Iraheta: It brings me back to my grandma who passed away a couple of years ago. I'll just have her in my heart.
1:57 [Comment From amber]
will you be meeting with fans before or after the shows during tour? we want to meet you!
1:57 Allison Iraheta: There will be a meet and greet. I'm pretty sure it's after the show. I hope we do, because I really want to meet with the fans and so do the others.
1:57 [Comment From Kris]
Hey Iraheta do you have a myspace? If so whats ur myspace page
1:57 Allison Iraheta: I don't have a MySpace page for my music yet, but I will be having it soon.

1:58 Allison Iraheta: Haha... I really want to and we've been talking about a couple of songs she has for me and I might get in there and start recording them, so we'll see what happens. I definitely want to work with her, too.
1:58 Victor Balta: Two more questions!
1:58 [Comment From Kierra]
What age were you when you decided that singing was the right career for you?
1:58 [Comment From Justine]
When did you start singing on stage in front of the public?
1:59 Allison Iraheta: I started singing when I was like 5 or 6, but when I actually started taking it seriously, I was about 11 or 12, like thinking about my future and all that.
1:59 [Comment From Kristina]
This may be embarrassing, but did you have a crush on any of the guys from Idol? They are all too cute.
2:00 Allison Iraheta: umm... no! Hahaha... It's funny. I never had a crush on any of them, I guess because we got really close really fast and it became like a family and it was, like, "Ew... I would never like my brother.' It's like, "Ew! They're butt ugly, I don't like 'em."
2:00 Allison Iraheta: Come out and check out the tour, I can't want to meet you guys. Thanks so much for the support and for all your questions!
