Listen, I love Allison's singing. It's just the best.
But, and I know I am not alone in this, but...even though she is 17, she seems to have been 'sheltered' or something.
Yes, she has performed from a very young age. And that is a key point. So why the shyness, the inability to do a simple interview with Ryan Seacrest, example: when he asked her about her classroom. She didn't know enough to say something like....
"well, I study X amount of hours with my teacher 'So-So' here at American Idol, and it's just myself and the teacher, therefore it is not like a traditional classroom setting with students". Listen,
I know what it is like to be nervous, but it's like...she needs to
go to some kind of class for poise and light conversation. Sorry people but... is she only used to performing in her arena of the same ethnic people or something??? I just don't want to see her as a one hit wonder and then fade away. She also is uncertain about what kind of music is her fav. She answered (with uncertainty earlier in her interviews) with liking 'Soul', then she kind of goes the way of liking 'rock', now in another interview she states 'alternative rock'. She doesn't know her fav. She doesn't know which way she wants to head.
I'm under the impression that her saying 'alternative rock' has to do with Adam's area of music and his interest. With all good intentions, I have to agree with one or two of the judges....she needs to concentrate on herself and not any of the other contestants (idols) and not worry about what's going on. She needs to concentrate on her music and why she is singing in the first place. It makes no sense to be singing since age 5 and performing on a television show since that age or 9...and to just keep projecting this image of "I don't know, man!" Her maturity might be in some things but...
very lacking in another area. She does not know how to talk with anyone outside of kidding around, being silly, and just avoidance. Maybe she has some inferiority complex and can't get out of her child-like comfort zone. Yes, I know, some are more mature even at age 13 and some are still 'youngish' at 20. But the thing is....she comes across like she is not schooled or has no experience with different people and different settings. Like Randy Jackson said at her first audition: "there's something going on with you", seriously - I hope someone will help pull out the whatever it is that puts some kind of strange hold on her. Sorry folks, I know I'm going to get alot of hate mail! So be it. But I think this girl still has to learn about the seriousness of her career. Is it a yes or a no, Allison? Are you serious about the business or just interested in the "acting" like a singer and hoping around stage to imitate Pink, and other acts. And yes, she does duet well with Adam. But seriously folks....friendship is one thing, but to bring up Adam so many times, and wanting to be seen with him, and to be around him all the time is saying something else. I hope she 'gets it' when he refers to her as his "little" sister. Because that's how she acts. Sorry, folks! She, yes, needs to 'have fun' but also be a professional. Others her age, and in the business so long are considered professional.
